khama rhino trip

the kids and I ventured about 4 hours north/west to the Khama Rhino sanctuary on Sunday.. We had a nice time checking out the animals , riding on top of the truck and running around on the salt pans.. We chased a group of road runners, Jacob drove for the first time and we saw a beautiful sunset...

Here's some photos from the trip with the kids, Babs the truck, and the natural beauty/vastness of some small salt pans..

Today is Wednesday, nothing much going on.. Michelle is in Ghanzi today doing outreach work and was on the road at 6:30 this morning... Our Marathon training officially started yesterday, not sure what we're getting into..

This weekend we celebrate the 4th of July with a Embassy party at NOrthside school.. should be fun....

I said goodbye to my friend Arthur last night, he heads back to The U.S with his family on Sunday... his family was a great help here and we becam great friends over the past 12 months.. Plus, he speaks fluent setswana and it's always a laugh to see him speak to the locals.. they are blown away... We went to George's Bar last night.. Apparently a local dive but a great time. Our other option was to go to the Policeman's Mess Hall to drink..It was closed due to the holiday. Apparently they serve subsidized beer, and its open to the public... Only in Botswana...
Alright , all for now..
