Well it's the weekend again and we had a great evening under the stars at Northside School. Every so often they have what's called in these parts as a "pitch party". Basically, they have kids from school sign up who want to play in a soccer match(for 20 minutes), they play fairly organized soccer matches throughout the evening, the parents sit around, sip on wine, have a few beers, braai and eat unbelievably delicious homemade Indian food. It's a great idea and would go over really well back home...
We went up last night at about 5:30, and came home, kids sleeping on shoulders at around 9. It was a nice evening and we noticed something a little different about Jacob....
We think he's finally noticed girls and is smart enough to use his twin brother and sister to spark interest...
There were several times last night where he offered to watch the twins, grabbed them, took them over to a group of girls and the flock came-a-coming. By any means necessary is what I always say, so he's smart about the whole thing. And you can't go wrong with the "look, here's my cute brother and sister, aren't they cute?..yeah , i watch them sometimes... oh, sure you can hold him....oh, yeah he's a pain sometimes, but I like to take care of them. " that angle works everytime...
His friends Resego, Sana, Dudu and Nastia were all over the babies... It's scary..
Michelle made the comment that we finally have a teenager, but we still feel like teenagers ourselves.. it's weird.
Not much going on today, I think we are going to take the kids shopping for b-day gifts, and make a cake for the twins.. They turn 2 tomorrow. That's hard to believe as well.
Maura had an International day yesterday at her school and we dressed her up in Red, WHite and Blue. We had to bring an authentic dish from our country.... we made brownies. I thought of just buying some fast food burgers and dumping them on the table, but went the sweets route.. Good ole American cuisine.
Tomorrow we have to meet with some people to plan out the camping trip in Khutse. Michelle and I still have to figure out which one of us is going to spend 2 sleepless nights in the bush.
All for now
