Well we had a few people from Swaziland visit us this past week and they were lucky enough to take in some of the festivities of "International Day" at jacob and kate's school. Kids dressed up in their traditional garb, did dances, spoke in their languages.. etc.. On Friday morning.. they had an international day feast.. It was one of the greatest meals I have ever had.. Greek, chinese, Indian, Pakistani, Namibian, Ethiopian, Serbian, Irish(beer), American, Botswana, Zimbabwean, Zambian.. etc... The highlights were the Greek and Indian tables.. Unbelievable.. This is no crappy little restaurant... this was the real deal.. The American table had popcorn, pumkin pie, and brownies. We here have a bit of an identity crisis...The American children did a true "american dance"..... hip hop... the highlight was Jacob doing the robot.. and then a Botswana child came up and did some serious breakdancing. Put our American boys to shame.
This week is busy.. headed to Mmangkodi to work at the orphanage, gabane tomorrow and finish up painting the mural. We are busy making plans for our next few trips to Cape Town with Michelle's mom and Tuli Block with Michelle's brother... Attached are photos for the day... 1 is a storm headed our way, the mural in progress, and Kate and Michelle during our Sunday coffee. Plus a photo of our street corner at night... very cool, hip photo.. Jacob and kate are taking pottery classes from our friends in Gabane (Helen is the instructor)..Also added is a photo of a man taking a loonnnnnng break from work on our back patio as well as a mom and her daughter who we purchased a set of pillows from.. All for now... hope all is well at home.
